Cohort № 01 · Terms

Terms of participation.

Plain English where we can manage it.
Last updated 18 June 2026.

I · Refund policy

Your $3,500 is a commitment to the cohort, and ours to you.

There are two paths to a refund — one driven by you, one driven by us.

Customer-initiated cancellation

Up to 25 May 2026
50% refund.
After 25 May 2026
No refund except force majeure.

If we decline you within 48 hours of payment

Cohort 1 is hard-capped at ten. We reserve the right to determine cohort fit within 48 hours of payment. If we conclude you’re not the right fit (cohort balance, mentor capacity, practice area distribution, time zone fit, or any other reason in our reasonable judgement), we refund your full $3,500 within 48 hours. No second-guessing on our end.

“Force majeure” means events outside our reasonable control that prevent the Residency from running as planned — serious illness, natural disaster, infrastructure outages, geopolitical events. In a force majeure event, we will use reasonable efforts to reschedule or refund.

Your Claude Max account and @legalquants.com email are provisioned on Day 1 and are not refundable once activated.

II · Confidentiality

What’s shared here, stays here.

The cohort is a safe space by design. You will be in a small group of peers who are all, to varying degrees, figuring this out together. By joining, you agree:

  • Not to share, screenshot, or repeat anything said by participants or mentors in private channels, office hours, or group sessions without explicit permission.
  • To treat your cohort peers with the same discretion you would want for yourself.
  • That LegalQuants may use anonymised, non-identifying feedback and general program outcomes for marketing and product development. We will never name you or share your specifics without your consent.

III · Code of conduct

Show up. Engage honestly. Support each other.

Three things we ask of everyone:

  • Show up.If you commit to a session, be there — or give us reasonable notice.
  • Engage honestly. No posturing — just genuine participation.
  • Support your peers. The safe space only works if everyone builds it.

We reserve the right to remove participants who significantly disrupt the experience for others. In that case, a pro-rated refund for remaining days will be issued at our discretion.

IV · Intellectual property

Anything you build during the residency is yours.

LegalQuants claims no intellectual property over your work product. You retain all rights, title, and interest.

If you choose to share your build publicly, you agree that LegalQuants may quote it with attribution in our general program outcomes (anonymised by default; named only with your explicit permission).

V · Personal capacity

You’re here in your personal capacity.

We expect you may be applying in your personal capacity, for personal learning purposes — rather than to represent your firm, company, or organisation.

The information you provide at checkout (firm/organisation, practice area, PQE) is used only for cohort balancing, mentor matching, and conflicts screening. It is not shared outside the LegalQuants team. We will not contact your firm or organisation about your participation.

VI · Not legal advice

Educational only. Not legal advice.

The Residency is an educational programme. Anything discussed in office hours, mentor syncs, peer review, or any other cohort channel — whether by a mentor, by LegalQuants, or by another participant — is shared in a personal, educational capacity. None of it is legal advice.

No solicitor-client (or lawyer-client) relationship is created between you and any mentor, between you and LegalQuants, or between you and any firm or organisation that employs a mentor.

Views expressed by mentors are their own. They are not the views of LegalQuants, and they are not the views of the firms or organisations that employ those mentors. Mentors participate in their personal capacity.

AI tools used in the Residency (including Claude and any third-party services) produce outputs that may be incomplete, incorrect, or context-dependent. You are responsible for independently verifying any AI-assisted output before relying on it in your practice.

If you have an actual legal, regulatory, or professional-responsibility question, consult your own counsel or your firm’s general counsel / compliance function.

VII · Limitation of liability

Liability capped at $3,500. Refund is the only remedy.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of LegalQuants and its mentors to you, arising out of or in connection with the Residency — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise — is limited to the amount you paid for participation: $3,500.

Your refund under Section I (Refund policy) is your sole and exclusive remedy. If you have already received a full refund, no further liability is owed to you.

LegalQuants is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages — including (without limitation) lost profits, lost revenue, lost business opportunities, lost goodwill, missed promotions, or lost data — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Past outcomes referred to on the Residency’s public pages or in marketing materials (e.g., internal moves, promotions, speaking opportunities) are illustrative, not guaranteed. We make no representation about specific outcomes from your participation.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

VIII · Governing law

Cayman Islands law. Cayman Islands courts.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands. The courts of the Cayman Islands have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms or your participation in the Residency.
